Outreach Food Packing

Meal Packing March 12!Chattanooga Presbyterians will roll up their sleeves and feed the hungry on Sunday, March 12, after the 11 am worship service and lunch. This festive, hands-on opportunity to assemble meals for the hungry is open to people more than 5 years old. There will be nursery for under fives, and activities for children over five who have had enough of meal packing tasks.

Everyone will meet at Rivermont’s gym at 1 pm to pack 20,000 macaroni and cheese meals to donate to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. By adding folks from other PC(USA) congregations in Chattanooga, we should have enough people to pack those meals in 90 minutes to two hours.

Rivermont, Second Presbyterian and Northminster are raising funds to pay for materials and shipping. A little goes a long way: each nutritious meal costs only $.25. A
donation of $10 will provide a meal for 40 people!

Rivermonters will enjoy a mac and cheese lunch in the Commons before heading to the gym to pack.
