The Congregational Care Committee is the ministry that nurtures the Rivermont Congregation. We provide special care for those who need encouragement, who are ill, have had surgery or are recovering, by offering special prayers; by taking food to them; by furnishing limited transportation; by sending cards, making phone calls and often giving gifts.
When there is a family member who has been called to be with the Lord, our committee arranges for food for the family and hosts the visitation.
Special attention is directed toward our beloved Rivermont members who are unable to attend church services. It is our joy to take them Easter baskets and Thanksgiving baskets as well as just make visitations. This past year we began the new ministry of taking them In-Home communion each month. We visit with anywhere from 18 to 24 shut-ins.
For the prayer chain, please send all prayer requests to the prayer chain email, email@example.com. If you have any questions, please contact Susan Vance at the church office 423.877.8527.
Our Stephen Ministry trains lay people to provide high quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered and confidential care to a hurting person. A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour.
