Evangelism

Evangelism Committee Insights

Evangelism is joyfully sharing the good news of the sovereign love of God and calling people to repentance, to personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, to active membership in the church, and to obedient service in the world.

Our calling and commitment is to telling good news, being good news and doing good news.
We are to tell the good news by going into the world, making disciples, baptizing and teaching. We are being good news when we show love for each other, share in worship, prayer, nurture and fellowship. We are doing good news when we participate in God's activities in the world.

To fulfill our calling, we need to:

Pray for the church as an instrument of God's purpose.

Provide opportunities to help people new to the Christian faith become disciples.

Train people to share their faith.

Increase worship attendance and participation in Christian Education.

Develop a theological understanding of evangelism as a lifestyle.

Meet our annual goal of adding new members.

Include new members in the full life of the church.

Assess evangelistic needs of the unchurched and pursue opportunities to meet those needs.

Include all members in mission through the church or other agencies.

Support people in identifying, developing, and using their gifts in ministry.
