Website: http://www.community-kitchen.org/

The Community Kitchen has been a mayor force of caring and sharing in Chattanooga. Since its inception in 1982, it has grown from a meal-a-day center located in a church to a comprehensive homeless center including:

* Feeding Three meals a day to homeless and hungry men, women and children

* Free Clothing from Consider the Lilies Thrift Shop

* Day shelter for families.

* Homeless Health Care Center on premises

* St. Matthew's night Shelter for Men.

* St. Catherine's Night Center for Women and Children.

* Job Train and Placement

* All of these services are provided at no cost to the consumer.

Since the year 2000, the Community Kitchen has served around 100,000 meals per year. So far in 2004 there has been a 22% increase in people needing meals.
