Mission: “To reach out in faith: 



  • To help low-income homeless families with children achieve and sustain independence by providing hope, shelter, meals, understanding and comprehensive social services 

  • Provide congregations with mission opportunities

  • Give volunteers a meaningful way to help those in need

  • Build public awareness of homelessness and the needs of low-income people


Program Description:



  • Shelter/Food/Transportation/Hospitality for homeless families with children. Shelter rotates weekly in 23 congregations throughout the greater Chattanooga area.

  • Furniture/Housewares - Collected, stored & distributed to homeless families when housing secured.

  • Family Day Center - Collaborative effort between IHN and Community Kitchen for homeless families with children to shower, change babies, wash clothes, play area for children and sitting room for parents.

  • Coordinated social services
